Special Programs for Gymnasts

diastasis gymnasts

We are pleased to be able to offer special programs for gymnasts! Gina Paulhus is a Certified Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist as well as a Certified Personal Trainer. She uses her knowledge and experience to help gymnasts of all ages bulletproof their core as well as help with pelvic floor issues.

Gina competed in gymnastics starting in childhood. She continued on competing until her late 30s! She works with pregnant and postpartum gymnasts on a regular basis. She can use the same corrective exercises that she uses for postpartum clients to help younger athletes with issues with the functioning of their core or pelvic floor, too.

Help for Diastasis Recti for Gymnasts

There are more gymnasts with diastasis recti than you may think. When you have a diastasis, it means that the abdominal muscles are separated at the midline further than they should be. Adult gymnasts who are postpartum as well as gymnasts of all ages can be affected. Luckily, help is available so that these athletes can get back to the sport they love - safely! Learn more our 1 on 1 Diastasis Consultations here.

We also have an online program available for gymnasts who have diastasis recti. This program can be more cost effective as well as allow you to do your exercises whenever and wherever suits you best. See more about our Online Programs for Gymnasts with Diastasis Recti here.

Help for Pelvic Floor Issues in Gymnasts

Pelvic floor issues are exceedingly common among athletes across a variety of sports. 52.5% athletes deal with incontinence - wow! Reports of leaking occur in 28% to 80% of participants in sports such as trampolining, gymnastics, aerobic gymnastics, hockey and dance. Pelvic floor issues can have effects on the functioning of our entire core, so it's critical to improve the health and function of the pelvic floor when there are symptoms.
