2017 Winter Adult
Gymnastics Camp: Review

Winter camp was an absolute blast! 30 athletes came together in Portsmouth NH from the U.S. and Canada for the experience of a lifetime. Every single gymnast made noticeable improvements with their skills and made lifelong friends in the process. Many gymnasts were returning from previous camps, making the experience a reunion of sorts for many of the athletes.

Camp featured training on the 4 women's artistic events, plus tramp and tumbltrak. We had a few games and relays sprinkled in complete with prizes (who has the best 'beam koala??). Our athletic trainer Meghan Hunt was on hand to provide treatments and make sure everyone was in tip-top shape.

Camp started Sat. Jan. 28 and went through Mon. Jan. 30. Each day offered the opportunity for a couple of meals out in downtown Portsmouth with camp folks. Tony Retrosi, worldwide clinician and owner of Atlantic Gymnastics, conducted a widely popular clinic on Essentials Every Adult Gymnast Needs. James Parent brought his ever-present enthusiasm and vast knowledge of coaching and drills from his position as VP at TumblTrak.

The clinic was a hands-on demonstration of basics on all four events and included many creative drills that can be done by a beginner without a spotter. Click here for the exclusive hour-long clinic by Tony Retrosi
