Why Cleaning Home Gym Equipment is Important

Training at home may require some basic gym equipment but it is likely that you will be the only person using it. You may be asking yourself, why do I need to clean my own gym equipment?

Just because you are the only one using it, doesn’t mean that it won’t need some maintenance and care. What should you use? Get together some of the following products:

  • Ammonia-based cleaner
  • Baking soda
  • Anti-bacterial wet wipes
  • Spray bottle
  • Water for mixing

Baking soda can be used in place of a store-bought cleaner if you have allergies. Use your wet wipe to get into the cracks of the machine and remember to vacuum and clean the floor around the machine to avoid dirt and dust settling in. Cleaning regularly prevents:

  • Bacteria from thriving
  • Bacteria being transferred
  • The machine becoming damaged
