This diet works on the premise that, by reducing the number of choices of foods you can have during a given time, you will naturally eat less and lose weight with no conscious effort.


This diet is not one that should be followed for longer than 1 month at a time because it has a tendency to cause unbalanced nutritional intake over the long-term. 


It's easy! You pick one of the 'couples' from each category and eat only those foods throughout the day, for a 6 day period. At the end of the 6 days, choose another 'couple' from each category. That's it! If you go through all 5 categories once, that will bring you to the one-month mark and it's time to take a break from the diet. The only category that doesn't have a 'couple' is FATS. This is because the protein foods contain some fats as well. You only get one FAT source every six days. Of course you can have as much of it as you need to stay satisfied.


The dairy is recommended to be low-fat but if you must have full fat the diet should still work. It should not have added sugar but you may sweeten with stevia.


You may have as many or as few meals each day as you like, and your portion sizes should be enough to satisfy but not stuff.

FAQ

Will I just gain the weight back after the month?

Probably not. This is because you will have trained yourself to have so few choices, that simply having greater choice will feel like a 'treat' even when you are choosing healthy foods.


What do I eat for breakfast? 

You have to find something on the list you can eat!


Can I go out to eat? 

It's difficult. This is part of how the diet works:)


What if I 'cheat?'

You can get away with having something 'off plan' once a week, but no more. This plan should be undertaken when you have the ability to say no to outside meals.


What can I drink?

Water, black coffee or coffee w/ cream and stevia, tea unsweetened or sweetened with stevia, water with lemon or lime, and low sodium chicken broth are allowed.


This seems like a pain.

Actually, it's not so bad. It's designed that you can go shopping once every 6 days and ensure you have enough of what you will need. Do some cooking ahead to save time.
