Meet Brett Wheeler, Home Bodies Personal Trainer to Hanover, Norwell, and Scituate MA and surrounding areas

"Growing up, I always had a personal trainer so I could gain an edge in the sports I played. I loved the challenge and the successful feeling of finishing a tough workout. I always treated my workouts like a competition which made it both fun and rewarding.

Thinking about what I wanted for a career, training made perfect sense. What it really came down to was my overall passion for fitness. I love the impact it allows me to have on my client's well being. It is a very gratifying career.

The first time I meet with a new client I always figure out the specific goals they would like to achieve from our sessions together. I also run a few simple fitness tests to figure out exactly where the client is from a physical standpoint. At that point I can explain to them the basic design of each workout; what the workout and nutrition program entails, what to expect for results, and how quickly they can expect to achieve their particular personal goals.

My favorite type of training is interval training, It is upbeat and challenging, and most importantly, it prevents boredom. I consider my specialties to be weight loss, strength training, and flexibility.

I believe in the ‘supply and demand’ training and diet philosophy, which means your diet is dependent on how hard you train on a given day, and vice versa. If one day your exercise routine is vigorous, you will consume more food. On a day where there is little to no exercise activity, your diet will be a little more cautious. Diet and exercise go hand-in-hand; however, the ‘supply and demand’ philosophy keeps things simple to follow and offers a bit of extra motivation to train hard.

I believe in creating life solutions for people that involve all aspects of living well, including health, weight loss, and overall lifestyle, stressing the integration of fitness, nutrition, and behavioral changes. I also firmly believe in different solutions for different people. No two clients are the same. Their issues may be similar, but their bodies will respond in different ways so their solutions may be specialized to them."

* Nationally Certified though AFAA.
(Aerobics and Fitness Association of America)
* CPR and AED Certified through Merrimack College Sports Medicine Department
* Intern at Merrimack College Strength and Conditioning
* Personal trainer at studio and club settings since 2009


Brett is available to the South Shore. He is based out of Hanover MA and is available up to 25 miles surrounding Hanover, including Norwell, Scituate, Halifax, Cohasset, Marshfield, Weymouth, Rockland, Hull, Pembroke, and surrounding areas.
