Get a (Different) Grip for
Better Results

When you change the grip position or hand position when you perform exercises, you shift the emphasis to different muscles in your body. You also stimulate your muscles in a different way. Here are some ideas:

Lat Pulldown

Typical grip: overhand (palms facing forward), hands slightly wider than shoulders

Ways to change it up: try underhand or palms facing each other. Move hands three inches wider than shoulders, and also try hands three inches closer than shoulders

Push-ups

Typical hand position: fingers facing forward, hands two inches wider than shoulders

Ways to change it up: try wider hands with fingers pointing out, and also closer hands with fingers pointing forward and elbows tucked in close to the body.
