Attention:
South Shore and Boston Residents:
Bill Coleman Can Help You
Achieve Your Goals.

Bill Coleman Has Been In Shape, Fallen Out of Shape, and Fought His Way Back. He Can Help You Do The Same!

I have worked out at various gyms since 1984, and I have kept myself in fairly good shape over the years. I ran the Boston Marathon in 1989, and have competed in various triathlons and 10K road races over the years. I made the same mistake that many gym-going people make: I had very little rhyme or reason to my workouts. I would try ‘this’ for a while and then work at ‘that’ for a while. I always got my cardio in (although not always high intensity). So what is wrong with this picture? Well, improper diet led to my contracting an illness known as Diverticulitis. This was a turning point for me five years ago. At that time, I decided to get more serious about my health and began a strict regimen with a renowned doctor of nutrition. Then someone suggested that I start with a trainer at my gym, who happened to be holding the world record in power lifting.

Over the past 5 years I have learned much about proper and effective ways to exercise that bring results, allow one to burst through plateaus, and allow for the successful attainment of goals. I have constantly improved my strength and athleticism and my ability to teach others to do so. I have done this by studying under the tutelage of a master trainer, through my personal trainer certification, and through my own experiences training various individuals.

My approach to working with each individual is always to begin by assessing where they stand currently fitness-wise and comparing that to where they want to be. If a client has the willingness to make changes, the sky is the limit. It is my job to help motivate and improve people. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to help people achieve their goals and dreams.

When I work with someone, I pass on the knowledge that has been handed to me. Physical Fitness is defined by the American College of Sports Medicine as a combination of proficiency in five categories. These five include: Muscle Strength, Endurance, Body Composition, Flexibility, and Cardiovascular Health. I always strive to incorporate all facets of these five in each program I devise for a client. I utilize a variety of training concepts and philosophies in my “fitness toolbox.” These include cycling workouts, core or basic lifts, high recruitment exercises, proper warm-up, stretching, and cool-down, and circuit training. These methods have been proven to be effective for many years, and will be effective for each client I work with in various combinations.

Besides training, my other interests include music (I have been a professional musician for many years and now work part time as a DJ on weekends). I also work during the day at a local school on the South Shore assisting special education and handicapped students. I am excited to be working with Gina Paulhus and I recommend anyone who has not read her book Mind over Fatter to do so and those who have please refer back to it. The book contains many concepts that are all true and proven.

Whether your goal is bodybuilding, toning, improved energy and appearance, strength and endurance or losing that extra 10 pounds or 70 pounds, I look forward to helping you attain them.

Here is what Bill Coleman's clients have to say
about training with him:

"I have never been a 'gym person,' but I decided I needed help losing those last 10 or 15 lbs. I noticed that it seems harder to lose weight as you get older.

I've noticed that I have better body tone, improved strength, improved aerobic capacity, and more confidence in general. I love the fact that my trainer is accessible--we maintain frequent contact through e-mail, and Bill meets with me weekly. He sets me up with a weekly workout schedule and he continually increases the challenge, something that would be much harder to do without a trainer pushing and encouraging me.

Bill gives me a weekly plan with a travel workout if I can’t get to a gym or have access to weights. My travel workouts have bodyweight exercises I can perform right in my hotel room if necessary.

Through Bill, I have learned how to exercise properly, why I am doing particular exercises at certain times, and the nutritional aspects of training. I have also made use of the 'Home Bodies textbook' Mind Over Fatter. I continue to strive to make improvements in spite of frequent business travel and stress at work.

I never would have realized she was capable of this back when we started!"

Kim Alger, Hingham MA
